Step Sonic: Auditions 2019

Tom Dale Company is looking for confident and versatile contemporary dancers for Urban Explorers and Step Sonic projects in 2019 (the same dancers will be used in both projects).

Company dancers will be expected to have 2 years minimum professional experience, exceptional contemporary technique and excellent floor work and contact skills. We are specifically interested in dancers with great musicality and any additional musical (voice, instrument etc) skills would be a bonus.

Please send one headshot, a short biography, a maximum of two video links of recent work and a short statement of interest to submissions@tomdale.org.uk by 12pm 23rd January 2019. Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 28th January. Auditions will be held in London on 12th and 13th February 2019 .

Please note that we will run the audition in 3 x one-hour long sessions in the morning of the 12th February with selected dancers being invited back for the afternoon session. After this, successful dancers will then be invited back to work with us for the full day on 13th Feb (11am – 4pm.

Rate of Pay is £500 per week plus allowances

Step Sonic premieres in Autumn 2019 and goes on to tour the UK.

Urban Explorers

Urban Explorers is TDC’s annual mixed professional and participatory project working with Participants from across Nottinghamshire culminating in a performance at Nottingham Playhouse on 4th July. In 2019 work will be inspired by the Step Sonic project.

Step Sonic: Part 1 & 2

Supported by the PRS Open Fund Step Sonic is a new work for three dancers. Featuring new music by Jo Wills and the company dancers, Step Sonic is a tribute to the phenomenal impact electronic and bass music has had on contemporary culture. A new kind of dance album.

In an exciting development for the company this double bill couples Step Sonic (part 1) a new work, with 2 Commissions by choreographers new to the company and SURGE by Tom Dale (part 2). Focused on the body and movement the pieces combine to create a visceral, explosive and captivating performance.
